Support for FreeBSD.

Removed used of ssize_t from unicode.c, which it turns out is not
a standard C type (and miscompiled by my copy of Visual Studio anyway),
leading to disagreements about which header file it's defined in.

However, you may not be able to compile the latest FB version.
I'll be submitting some fixes to FB.
I've only tested on x86_64 FreeBSD; FB 1.05 might actually work
on x86 (where you can compile without -gen gcc)
