Hmm. I don't like that patch. I think it will lead to a lot of users saying:

"I put ${S1} in my text box, but nothing happened! What is wrong! it is a bug!"

It would be better to go ahead and insert the string, even if it is too long,
and then crop off the end of the textbox line (actually, this goes for hero
names too)
