Ravancloak reports that on Mac OS 10.13.6 using the 64-bit gfx_sdl build "I could never leave custom in the background without getting lag", saying "lags really bad and runs like 1 tick per 10 seconds". But he said he just switched to the 32-bit gfx_sdl build and so far the problem doesn't happen. One possible explanation is that the 64-bit gfx_sdl build is using an ancient SDL 1.2.14 version (see also #1138). But noone else has reported it.

However, I very rarely sometimes also see Custom start to run extremely slowly on Linux (using gfx_sdl, SDL 1.2.15), always after I leave it running in the background for a while. I haven't really looked into the problem.
