<p>A key-input-simulating command would be very useful because there's currently no way to remap controls, and that's just what's needed, not any specific thing that the use key does. Suppose you want to map joystick button 8 to Use, for example. It is worth having, not just for internal use.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, <code>player_menu_keys</code> is called before <code>interpret_scripts</code>, so synthetic keypresses would not actually work in menus, yet. (I'd like to be able to schedule scripts to run before <code>player_menu_keys</code>) Real key mappings defined in Custom (e.g. run script X on key Y), and remapping by scripts, is long overdue.</p>
