i noticed something similar occur here on protonmail! it gave a more specific message, which may be of help debugging?

"This email has failed its domain's authentication requirements. It may be spoofed or improperly forwarded! Learn more."

the 'learn more' button links here; i dont know a thing about email systems but perhaps it could lend some leads:

no emails from subversion dont have this warning, but i noticed the ones from a week ago re: my "hello" letter did have the warning, so it looks like its only from messages sent by other human individuals to the mailing list (and then broadcast to subscribers).
