Dang it, I knew I had reason to be nervous about this fix.

I just realized that this fix breaks the even more common case of
on-death-bequest attacks that target the dying enemy to transmogrify them
into something else.

This probably means that there are some games with broken battles when
played in the Callipygous release.

Once I find a way to fix this regression (hopefully without reintroducing
the bug that revision 7885 was meant to fix) I might consider doing a
callipygous+2 bugfix release.
