@ Ralph Versteegen: Yes, having two battle formation settings is what I meant
by "per party". Sorry for the confusion there :P And I can temporarily use
scripts... I just prefer not to if I'd re-implement parts of my game after this
feature would be done. Not sure how complicated that would get.
The duplication is something I didn't think about. This could be used to
trigger scripts alongside text boxes, which would duplicate some functionality.
Combined with having default win / lose triggers, which would also come in
handy. The existing "after battle script" can likely not be removed, because it
would break compatibility with previous games. At the same time, I wouldn't
want it to limit adding this feature either. Needs some thinking... but my
suggestion at a first thought would be to implement these regardless of
after-battle scripts, since they can be used for different purposes and in
different ways.
Otherwise, the implementation you suggested is very good. A trigger for both
winning, losing, and running (which can be either a script or a text box) would
be perfect :) Plus global defaults if someone wishes something to happen in any
battle, but doesn't override these settings per formation. I don't believe
giving text boxes a "game over" conditional is a good idea though.
