This works:

plotscript, use door, num, begin
  use door(num)
end

You can set an NPC to call use door and it works like it sounds -- makes a
system call instead of a recursive function call. This is a really bad idea and
I did it without noticing.

It's kind of funny in one sense, but the programmer side of me is scared of
this sort of thing.
